UArctic Congress 2018University of the Arctic, the Universities of Oulu and Helsinki will organize jointly the UArctic Congress 2018 on 3-7 September 2018 in Oulu and Helsinki. The Congress is an integral part of Finland’s Arctic Council chairmanship program following the chairmanship themes on Climate change, sustainable development and gender equality including the four priorities: environmental protection, connectivity, meteorological cooperation and education. Congress fosters the networking, knowledge sharing and open dialogue between the institutional leaders, indigenous representatives, researchers and students from around the circumpolar north and beyond. For Finland and the Congress, the environmental protection is one of the main themes and sessions will be also convened by the researchers from Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE) and Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) who are Congress partners and will share their latest research on the biodiversity and environmental protection.
