The ‘Ticks in the city’ -project aims to assess tick risk in urban parks and recreational areas in Finland and to develop methods to decrease this risk. Furthermore, it aims to increase awareness of tick presence in cities and the importance of tick searches after outdoor activities in urban green areas. City parks and recreational areas attract up to millions of visits yearly, making them potential high-risk areas for tick-borne disease transmission.
