To assess the contribution of different wastewater treatment steps and complex wastewater processes in antibiotic resistance distribution to the environmental waters of Finland; 2. To evaluate the potential for elimination of antibiotic resistant bacteria and genes with treatment technologies optimized to cold climate conditions including modern polishing step processes that are becoming more commonly used. 3. To provide new computational models and tools to assess preferable wastewater treatment strategy for controlling antibiotic resistance dissemination.
