Atmospheric absorption in a changing climate: can bats experience and deal with acoustic stress? This PhD project aims to understand how northern bats react into varying air temperature and humidity, which determine the intensity of sound absorption. Absorption limits effectively the range of bat echolocation and foraging success. With climate change, the problem might become more severe. Thus, it is important to understand this while predicting the effect of climate change for bat populations. Accurate estimates greatly benefit protection of bats.
