Experiments as vehicles of innovation? Exploration and evaluation of experimentation practices in sustainability transformation processesExperiments have been suggested as a governance tool for the speeding up of societally important but controversial change processes and the solution of complex challenges, such as sustainable use of natural resources and climate change. My research examines, what makes experiments vehicles of innovation or why experiments fail to promote sustainable transformations. It develops evaluation practices for the identification and dissemination of lessons learnt from experiments.
