Flux measurements of sub 10 nm aerosol particlesThe objective of this work is to develop a novel instrumentation in measuring the surface-atmosphere exchange of aerosol particles all the way down to 1 nm and which can be used to improve the understanding between the natural feedback loops of CO2 exchange, biogenic aerosol formation and volatile organic compounds. Increased CO2 emissions are likely to lead to increased biogenic aerosol formation, and thus increase the planetary albedo which will cool the atmosphere. The developed instrumentation will be able to study aerosol particle fluxes to and from natural sources, in order to estimate the magnitude of this phenomena and give insight into the CO2-aerosol negative feedback loop.
