Behaviour genetics of the endangered Saimaa ringed seal populationMy PhD thesis project aims at providing an integrated view of the behavioural ecology and genetics of the Saimaa ringed seal using a combination of cutting-edge behaviour genetic approaches. More specifically, I will focus on social networks of the ringed seal population, breeding-site and mate fidelity and parasite transmission in the population. Moreover, I will develop genetic based individual age estimation method for population monitoring purposes.
