In this project, methods of philosophy science studies are used to examine technological expectations and hype in the bioeconomy. Hype has an influence on the sense of justice: The assumption that climate and environmental crises will be resolved by technological means may undermine the acceptability of sustainable societal structural change. The research provides understanding on how deconstructing technological expectations can increase the acceptability of sustainable transition.
