Active Academic – Research communication training day for grantees, 23 May 2022

How to make a difference in society as a researcher? What kind of research-based information do journalists, decision-makers, and companies need? Register now for a communication training day by 2 May.

The Maj and Tor Nessling Foundation and Kone Foundation are organizing an inspiring training day for their grantees on Lonna Island on 23 May 2022.

In the training you will:

  • get a chance to share your experiences with fellow grant researchers,
  • hear valuable insights from the end users of research-based information,
  • and learn to talk about your research to different audiences in an engaging way.

The training day will be held in English. Our speaker guests include Member of the European Parliament Sirpa Pietikäinen, Academy Research Fellow Timo Miettinen from the University of Helsinki, Lead Algae Scientist Gayathri Murukesan from Origin by Ocean and journalist Peter Buchert from the newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet.

Register for the training day by 2 May here

Registered participants will receive the program, arrival instructions, and a small pre-assignment closer to the training day.

What our grantees have said about past training days:

“The training day program was good and useful. The atmosphere was positive, encouraging, and energetic. There was enough time for discussion, and the conversations were rewarding. “

“It is great that the Foundations are inviting us, researchers, from different fields to come together. We are our most important reference group and can raise the profile of grant researchers together.”

“Communication training days have been one of the best places to network and create lasting, interdisciplinary friendships with other researchers.”
